Digizens: a magazine from SaferInternet4Kids’ Youth Panel
The Youth Panel of the Greek Safe Internet Centre of the FORTH - Institute of Computer Science Technology and Research Foundation created its own magazine "Digizens". It is a magazine produced by young people for young people themselves. The first issue is now available, and it tackles how children see the dangers of the internet, and their own advice for a better and safer internet.
The idea of creating a magazine, in which young people's opinions about the online world will be recorded, seemed particularly attractive to the Greek Safer Internet Centre. Their Youth Panel strongly believes in peer-to-peer learning and this was their own idea to promote and share their knowledge to other people of same age.
The members of the Youth Panel of the Greek Safer Internet Centre were eager to collaborate and analysed online safety issues that concern them through their own eyes.
The young people expressed their views and opinions on issues like body positivity, catfishing, online gender-based violence and online fraud. Through their articles, the members of the Youth Panel analysed many different kinds of online risks, as well as tips on how a user can stay safe online.
The Greek Safer Internet Centre has created, together with their Youth Panel, a magazine by young people for young people as a team and they hope everyone will enjoy it. The first issue of Digizens! is now available for free, in the effort to disseminate knowledge and values for a better and safer internet for all.
You can read and download the first issue of the magazine on the website of the Greek Safer Internet Centre.
